Well, luckily Dark Sun got saved! After much pestering of Wizards of the Coast, they
kindly revamped the Dark Sun system for the royally excellent AD&D 3rd edition.
I'm a big fan of 3rd edition, although I did bitch about thac0 being gone because
I actually understood it. So now it's up to us, the gamers, to encourage WofC to
expand the system.

And if they want to put out some new fiction based on Athas, I'd be happy for years!
