I am proud to admit I am a gaming geek. I will always be a gaming geek. I've been gaming since I was in second grade and haven't stopped since. Its one of those fun things you can do out of the blue. Once you buy the base books you are all set. (Although any good gamer will tell you, buying books becomes really expensive...) Free things that are fun are hard to come by. And fuck it, I loved make believe when I was a kid. Since I spend so much of my time engaged in this weird ass crap called gaming, I think it deserves a page all it's own. But there is just so goddamn much of it, that we are going to have to break it down. |
Possibly one of the best developed game systems on the market today. Definitely where the largest chunk of my RPG base book fund goes. I play a few of their systems. I've crossbred a lot of WOD with several other systems and got a weird amalgamation of stuff that works well.

Sadly, WOD is coming to an end. White Wolf has announced they are entering the end times. So get your base books while you can, kids.
I LIVE for Amber DRPG! For my money, it is one of the best games out there today... providing you can find the base book. I love the wacky system, and I love the characters. For those of you not in the know, Amber is a fantastic book series written by the late Roger Zelazny. It traces a fratricidal royal family and their struggle to control the universe. The RPG based off of it is completely diceless and totally mind blowing. Want to learn more? Click the pic.
Another quality game is In Nomine. I haven't had the opportunity to play. I love the system, however, and I incorporated it into one of my crossover games. It is one of the hands down most-beautiful game books I've seen in a while. I like it so much, I want one of the pieces of art as a tattoo.

For the truly old school among us, I am also a huge AD&D fan. Mostly, I like the books. I know, I know, they were done by hack writers with no talent and blah blah blah. You know what? I read 'em in fourth grade and loved 'em and I love 'em now. The worlds are interesting, the characters are fun, and its enjoyable. I'm not looking for War and Peace, here, people. Just some good Old School D&D. I mainly read two systems: Dark Sun and Forgotten Realms.

There have been many, many other games I have been in and I'd like to take the time to thank all of my many GMs and fellow players. I'm too lazy to put up a page for every single game and system, but all me to thank you all for many hours, days, and years of entertainment and intellectual stimulation.
Sadly, my roleplaying glory days seem to be behind me. All my time is now dedicated to my music. But, every now and again, I do get in the time to hack out a little one-off or what have you. RPGs are such a big part of my life that I know (or at least I think I know) that the hold is only temporary. |
